Some Ways We’re Different

Churches should help people develop a relationship with God.

We (New Christian Community) experience how wonderful it is to be close to God, so we train our members to build a deep relationship with God and Jesus. You’ll learn how to communicate with him and know what God says.

THE LIVING ROOM WHERE WE MEET

We’re not perfect, but we do not tolerate members being judgmental, insulting, abusing, or otherwise hurtful. Our community must be a safe place to belong and find healing.

We train and mentor one another to love as Jesus does and encourage firmly holding each other accountable to act only in loving ways.

We dislike hypocrites as much as you.

We purpose to live our lives according to the commands and teachings of Jesus because they work so well. We are human and fallible and make mistakes. But when we mess up, we admit it as soon as possible, seeking forgiveness for anyone we hurt.

Large-group lectures are the least effective way to learn.

Like Jesus, we do weekly, in-depth, small-group skills training in every area you need to live well—spiritual, mental, emotional, relational, physical, material, and financial. Like the early churches, we meet in homes.

THE HOUSE WE MEET IN

Sermons and bible studies only give people more information.

Jesus knew personal transformation was our most crucial need. With his help, we’ll train and coach you on how God can transform you. We’ll teach you what Jesus taught as found in the Gospels. We’ll teach you the life and caring skills to become the best version of yourself.

It is important to us that our members feel they belong and are connected with each other.

Our weekly meetings are in small, home groups. We have great discussions about God, the bible, and life. You can interact with a life coach and other members and practice in the group what you’re learning. We’ll encourage and support you.

We don’t just talk about love, joy, peace, and goodness. Nor do we confine serving others to our group.

We take Jesus at his word and try to live daily with love for everyone. We work inside and outside our groups to bring God’s blessings to you and everyone in Eaton, Preble County, and beyond.

Sunday morning shows or ho-hum gatherings doing the same old things week after week are not our things.

Jesus redefined worship, saying that true worship shows mercy and works for justice. He said, “If you love me, you will obey my commands and teachings.” You’ll learn things that will change your life.

Jesus only commented on civil politics once. Clearly, it wasn’t that important to him.

We believe our Christian community must only advocate for societal changes based on what Jesus teaches. We support transforming America but do not support individual candidates for elected office.

Jesus’ vision is huge—transform the world to live as they do in his country of Heaven, with all its blessings.

We have a clear vision and a simple, workable plan to make a measurable difference in the lives of people in Eaton, Preble County, and beyond. We are an alternative to traditional churches.

We thoroughly studied how Jesus lived and trained his followers so we could personally know Jesus and experience his love and transformation. Then, we used this knowledge to help transform others seeking the same things. Now, we’d like to teach you Jesus’ way of living as found in the New Testament of the bible. Please join us.
